Scholarship Programme for 2009-10
The 'Langside College Scholarship Programme 2009' will fund accommodation costs for one International student residing within the Langside Halls of Residence during academic session 2009 – 2010.
The number of scholarships available during this session is three (3).
The value of each scholarship is approximately £4,000.
To apply for this Scholarship please submit an essay of up to 500 words explaining why you have chosen Scotland and Langside College as the preferred destination for your studies. This essay must be your own work. Essays should be submitted to the International Student Services Office accompanied by a completed International Application Form by 15 May 2009.
The results of the Scholarship Programme will be announced on 22 May 2009.
Terms and Conditions
- This scholarship is only open to NEW International Students applying for a full time academic or ESOL programme, commencing August 2009, at Langside College.
- The Halls of Residence are owned by Mar Retail Limited. Successful applicants will be provided with a Code of Conduct which must be agreed to and signed by the applicant, prior to the commencement of residence within the Halls.
- The Scholarship will cover the cost of accommodation for the full academic year of 46 weeks from August 2009 (final dates to be confirmed). If a successful applicant wishes to extend their stay at the Halls of Residence they can do so at the cost of approximately £85 - £90 per week.
- Successful applicants must pay a refundable deposit of £200 before residence can commence. Upon receipt of the deposit, confirmation of accommodation will be sent to the successful applicant. The deposit for accommodation can be paid at the same time as the deposit for the chosen academic programme.
- The Residences are located on the main Langside College campus and consist of single occupancy, en-suite study bedrooms.
- Applicants must be 16 years of age, or over, on the date of enrolment .
