Community Learning & Development Unit

Head of Unit – Frances Thom

As Head of the Community Learning and Development Unit, I am responsible for the community campuses that the college has in the South East of Glasgow in the following areas:

Additionally, we also offer classes throughout the local area at various times and locations to suit you!

The aim of the Community Learning and Development Unit is to encourage local people to consider going back into learning. We do this by offering a range of classes in your own local community either at one of our community campuses or in a class held locally in partnership with Glasgow City Council, East Renfrewshire Council or one of our other partners.

We have a team of lecturers who really understand how difficult it can be for someone to take that first step back into education.

Classes are small and we often have special courses where additional support is on offer - be it financial or otherwise. Each of our campuses offer something different, so whether you would like to learn a new hobby, build your confidence or improve your skills to move into employment, we offer a programme to suit you! We also have our Flexible Learning Unit at our Glenwood Campus to let you learn at your own pace and time.

We also offer one to one help with reading, writing or working with numbers.

Classes are free to almost everyone on benefit and we can often give help with travel and childcare costs.

With all this choice, what’s keeping you? Come and see what we have to offer!

A warm welcome awaits you at any of the campuses.
