CLIC Services

The services provided by the College Learning Information Centre include:

Study spaces

There are 76 study places in the Library: 52 in the quiet study area and 24 in the periodicals section where group study is allowed. Students may also request to use the Seminar Room for group study if spaces are limited elsewhere in the CLIC. Please ensure that noise is kept to a minimum in all areas of the library and that silence is observed in the quiet study area to allow users of the library to concentrate on their research/studies. In particular please make sure that you switch off your mobile phone before entering the CLIC.

Network Printer

We have a colour network printer which deals with all print jobs requested from any computer in the CLIC. To print your document simply select File / Print from the drop down menu, then pay for your print out(s) at the Issue Desk and collect them from the network printer. The default settings for the printer are as follows: black & white; A4; portrait; single-sided prints and normal paper type. To print out in colour select the LitehouseFieryColour printer instead of LitehouseFieryBlack. To make any other changes to the default printer settings click on the Properties button in the print dialogue box and make the changes there. If you are unsure on how to print or how to make changes to the print settings then ask a member of staff for assistance. The charges for print outs are:

Black & white printing:	A4 - 5p per copy	A3 - 10p per copy
Colour printing:	A4 - 25p per copy	A3 - 50p per copy

Photocopiers

We have 2 photocopiers: one black & white and one colour. Both photocopiers are coin-operated and both coin boxes do not give change. If you do not have the exact change please request change at the Issue Desk. The charges for using the photocopiers are:

Black & white photocopying:	A4 - 5p per copy	A3 - 10p per copy
Colour photocopying:	A4 - 25p per copy	A3 - 50p per copy

The facilities available on the photocopiers are:

Black & white:	A4 / A3 copying	double-sided copying
	enlargement/reduction	automatic document feeder
	automatic stapling	automatic collation
	photocopying onto transparencies (available from Issue Desk - 20p)

Colour:	A4 / A3 copying	double-sided copying
	enlargement/reduction	automatic document feeder
	image creation options	colour balance facility
	photocopying onto transparencies (available from Issue Desk - 20p)

The photocopiers are available on a self-service basis, although CLIC staff are on hand if you need any assistance.

Binding

We are able to bind documents in three ways:

Slide binding (10p)

Binds document using plastic slide binder.

Comb binding (30p)

Punches multiple holes in margin of document and binds it with a black plastic comb. This type of binding comes complete with a plastic front cover and a black backboard. The size of combs range from 6mm (up to 20 pages) to 28mm (up to 270 pages).

Heat binding (60p)

Uses heat process to glue pages in at the margin of the document and has a plastic front and back cover. The heat binding covers range in size from 3mm (10 - 25 pages) to 12mm (75 - 100 pages). We also have a black hard cover version of this binding which costs £3.00 and comes in 3mm and 5mm sizes.

Laminating

We are able to laminate items of various sizes:

Credit card size - 10p

A5 size - 15p

A4 size - 30p

A3 size - 60p
